On both sides of Dolan Falls is part of the Dolan Falls Preserve which is owned by The Nature Conservancy. Devils River State Natural Area is adjacent to it which is run by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. The Dolan Falls and Devils River are accessible to the public through Devils River SNA. The downside is there's a lengthy portage from the parking lot to the put in above the falls. The The Falls are probably a quarter-mile from the parking area but the road goes up and down some hills and it’s very rocky. TPWD may limit the number of people through the SNA so you need to contact them.

Natural beauty, rugged terrain My profile pic is of a small mouth bass caught while kayak fishing the Devil’s River in 2014. We had permission as well as private access and retrieval, which was as difficult to obtain as the journey. Getting there and back was not easy or cheap. Very remote and isolated, with no contact for five days.
