About This Adventure Destination

Victoria Falls, located near the charming village of Delices in Dominica, is a spectacular showcase of natural beauty. Known locally as a stunning water feature, the falls are among the most breathtaking in the Caribbean. Cascading down from the heart of the island’s lush rainforest, this landmark offers visitors a glimpse of Dominica’s vibrant ecosystems. The fall’s powerful rush of water creates an atmospheric roar, harmonizing with the serene surroundings of moss-covered rocks and verdant greenery. Unique to this location is the brilliant contrast created by the white water against the rich tropical backdrop. The mineral-rich waters give the pool a unique bluish-green hue, often leaving visitors awed. Also of note is the slight thermal warmth of the water, a result of the island's geothermal activity. Beyond the falls themselves, the surrounding trails meander through dense jungle, showcasing a diversity of flora and fauna unique to this ‘Nature Island of the Caribbean’. The nearby Morne Trois Pitons National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, adds to the area’s eco-tourism appeal, making Victoria Falls a standout destination not just in Dominica, but also in the wider Caribbean.

Google Maps leads you the wrong way. We asked a lady for directions to the falls and she said turn around and go down till you see the sign for it. As we were turning around, a group of men told us to park near them outside their bar, it seemed a little suspicious so we didn’t do it and just kept driving. A minute later, we see the sign for Victoria falls. So if we listened to those men, we would have been having to walk VERY FAR & they wanted to charge us a fee. We followed the gravel road down & were met with a great guy at the Zion restaurant, he ended up being our guide to the waterfall. He charged us 100 EC for 2 people and parking. Forgot his name and forgot to send him his picture. Would recommend the family owned Zion restaurant! The overall hike experience was a great adventure.

Amazing hike to Victoria falls! Notice that Google Maps leads you to the “wrong” trailhead. There are sketchy scam people on the road who tell you to go with them as a guide. Don’t do it! but pass them and drive down the gravel road to a small vegan cafe and creperie (family owned). They’re very nice and you can either go on the hike yourself for 10 EC or take a guide for 50 EC pp. We did it with a guide and we’re happy about it as the weather and water conditions were not the best and there’s no way you can find the track without a local. You have to pass through water and do rock scrambling, so be prepared. But very much worth it After the hike, get a crepe and their in-garden-grown, self-roasted coffee!

Beautiful waterfall. Very short hike, about 1.5 km. Only the last 500 meters or so are technical. Note that there is an entrance fee for the waterfall. Negotiate down to 60 Caribbean dollars for 4 people.
