Maybe my new favorite mountain? Incredible views and fun to climb. Definitely my favorite of the four Chicago Basin 14ers. A little bit of route finding but there are plenty of cairns if you keep your eyes open. Stay to the left of the ridge on the way up and a bit lower than you might think. Super solid grassy ledges and fun solid holds for moves that feel safe and rewarding.

Beautiful hike up to Twin Lakes. A bit of a slog up to North Eolus once you hit the boulder field.. Keep an eye out for goats there! The catwalk on the ridge from North Eolus is easy and short if you focus on your footing. The climb up Eolus is quick if you follow the cairns up and left. The view from the top is vast, including a not too distant view of Purgatory!
