Epic adventure! From the train ride in from Durango, to the hike up from Needleton, to the plethora of campsites, the surrounding ridgelines, the roaming wildlife, and the fantastic hikes up to Twin Lakes and the 14ers.. There aren't too many places in the world that can match this!

Many goats, many marmots, many fallen trees. Did a 4 day backpacking trip from the Durango Silverton train to hike the 14ers in the basin. Lots of flies and mosquitos that don’t respond to Deet. Otherwise, breathtaking views, amazing hikes, beautiful waterfalls, and kind people. Worth the effort!
