First off, it's worth noting that €30 for a day ticket to go hiking is extremely expensive. To everyone who has the option: Go to the Alps! For that money, you can ride the lifts all day. The trails there are also more varied, more beautiful, and less crowded. The idea of ​​charging foreigners nine times the price must come from a certain segment of German expats. Now to the actual hike. The main trail is extremely crowded, especially because many people are returning from the sunrise tour. To all these chaotic people: What's wrong with you?! Sleep at night like normal people. The sunset is also beautiful and warmer. And if you're putting yourselves through this for some reason, at least take the side path back, or stay longer at the top instead of blocking the entire main ascent. And if your goal is to avoid the entrance fees, there are tons of ways to access the hike via side trails. Just take a look at satellite images. Sorry, but I have little respect for you. Okay, apart from that, it's a beautiful hike in itself. The last climb (1 km) is extremely strenuous. You'll be exhausted at the top and looking forward to a nice beer. But no such luck. Unlike in the Alps, they charge exorbitant entrance fees, but there are no mountain huts. Anyway, luckily I came prepared and lugged a decent-sized bottle of beer up with me. Being the cheapskate that I am, we decided not to take the standard main path back, but to take a side trail. A good deal longer, but at least we hiked all the paths. Okay, apart from that, it's a beautiful hike. We discovered that even the trail markers on the trail signs don't have consistent color coding. (I had to backtrack unnecessarily once because of this.) Here's a little anecdote about what these entrance fees lead to. A tree literally fell right in front of me on the trail. Normally, I would have made sure the path remained clear, but I decided against it. So, to sum it up: Beautiful (and overcrowded) nature for a lot of money. But okay, Argentina has a lot of flat land, so it's easy to turn a few mountains into a religion. This whole trip reminded me once again how incredibly good we have it in Europe and how spoiled we actually are. To all the Americans out there: come visit the Alps sometime. Enjoy the freedom of nature, numerous (free) hiking trails, cultural diversity, mountain restaurants, mountain huts with good food, and above all, delicious beer.

Rip-off! 45,000 ARS (€26) per person. Better to start before 5:00 AM when it's still free. A very beautiful hike, but the price is outrageous compared to other national parks around the world.
