Nice National Forest campground along US 6 just west of Ely. It has been remodeled since we were last here over a decade ago with new pit toilets. Nice spacing, very nice hosts. Reasonable Verizon signal for streaming, and easy sky access for our Starlink. The only minor negative was the water system was inoperative during our stay in late August 2026 (but the campground hosts said they had extra water if needed, but we were carrying enough).

Ward Mtn Campgrounds is great! It's very well kept and clean. During our stay the well pump broke so the drinking water spigot were off. Luckily, we always bring our own water. We stayed in spot 11 with our 24 Ford Ranger with a Lone Peak Overland pop up tent camper. It was a perfect site. We were surrounded by tall pinon and other pine trees which blocked the occasional gusts of wind. Otherwise, it was always lightly breezy and cool. We're avid hikers and totally enjoyed hiking the surrounding area without having to drive anywhere. The surrounding area is a recreational area with numerous trails for mtn biking, hiking, horseback riding in summer and cross-country skiing in the winter. We will definitely return to camp here again.

I didn't camp here overnight but my wife and I had dinner with the Ward Mountain Campsite managers. The camp grounds were clean quite and the views are great.
