So beautiful but holy cow, in the summer, I would NOT be doing the activities. First glider was amazing, but we waited in line for over an hour, then they shut the ride down without a priority line pass for when it reopened, so we waited in another line for 3 hours for the chair glider. Then went back to the first glider. Waited ANOTHER 1.5 hours. Over and done in 3.5 minutes (but it was awesome and my teen loved it). I think my fatal flaw here was that I THOUGHT I needed to do 2 adventures and that I should buy my tickets down at the bottom with my fancy half off pass. But we got up there and I’m such a cheap bastard that I had to get our 2 adventures worth. Which we did not. But we did and then I gave away 3 adventures to just someone from Barcelona. They were nice but anyway. If I did it again, with my husband (who feels justifiably righteous anger towards long, inefficient lines) and our 2 boys (preteen and teen), I’d for sure go to First because it’s gorgeous and amazing. Here’s how I’d do it: 1. Grab my gondola ticket online ahead of time 2. Ride the gondola up to the top and love it. 3. Take the free cliff walk and freak yourself out with some solid pictures. 4. Reconsider how you want to spend 3-6 hours of your life in the MOST BEAUTIFUL place in the world. And if waiting in line is your heart’s desire, do it. Pay at the point when you enter for the ride itself. 5. But instead, sit on the countryside with a picnic and gasp at the beauty and wonder why Switzerland has all the luck. High five each other that you saved time in the line and whatever $$$ these crazy rides cost. You escaped the tourist trap (except that 4-person glider was really something). 6. Ride back down to the trottibikes and maybe that line is shorter? You’re welcome. Ps we were there by 8:45am on a Friday.
