Parking is very limited. People drive crazy on the road there.

Beautiful trail and one of the best summer hikes in the Bay Area! The shade along most of the route keeps it cool and enjoyable, even on warm days. We hiked about 5.5 miles and finished in roughly 2 hours. The only downside is parking. There isn’t a proper parking lot that we could find. We parked right at the trail entrance, where there are only about 4–5 roadside spaces, and the surrounding area is mostly Private Property with no additional parking available. If you arrive early, it’s absolutely worth the visit. Great trail, beautiful views, and perfect for a summer hike.

wonderful trail. we counted ~300 banana slugs in total. a little strenuous, but all shaded, amongst the majestic redwoods and a little creek. cant go wrong. banana slugs were the highlights though. there seems be parking for 10ish cars. may be more down the road.

A beautiful loop hike along a (fire) road/trail for most of the way down to Purisma Creek. The hike back out (I went clockwise from the trailhead) is a trail for most of the way. Amber's description below is spot on. Beautiful, large redwoods and douglas firs and the hike was in the coastal cloud/mist. I did the spur up to Bald Knob is about 5km out and back, and the knob is not bald. Parking is very limited. No dogs allowed.
