Luxury Escape in the Whitsundays: qualia

When you charge what Qualia does, you’re putting yourselves up against the finest hotels and resorts on the planet… and long story short, this is anything but. If you’re European and have actually experienced what true luxury is, I would avoid this place at all costs. You will leave extremely disappointed. It’s just classic Australian tourism as a whole, lacking attentive customer service, overpriced, and genuinely, apart from a mediocre looking main swimming pool, having to see a rocky pebble beach which you can’t swim in, doesn’t cut the mustard as to what luxury is. Rooms are outdated, amenities within are lacking, TV is small. The list goes on. People comment about location being great, but you’re on Hamilton island which is tiny in itself. So you can be anywhere within a few minutes regardless. Having one restaurant is a major flaw, as if you think you can just go outside of the resort as the answer, think again.. you’re going to be stuck with terrible food also. There’s also zero cash accepted anywhere which is ironic beyond belief, when Blackstone (new owners of Qualia) have a history of being sanctioned by the SEC, and governance problems relating to $450M in fines through certain Australian acquisitions.

Amazing views in every single bungalow. Love the infinity pool on the balcony. Their buggies will take you all over Hamilton Island. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Flawless experience. Everything was to the highest standard. The champagne on arrival - delicious. Facial and massage - heavenly. Meals - exceptional. Ben the sommelier and sake tasting class - well worth it. White haven island was spectacular and a highlight. Service was beyond expectations.
