Northern Epics: Denali Wilderness Adventures

Northern Epic Did Not Disappointed!! We went on a five hour guided hike. We were really blown away by the level of professionalism and educational knowledge that Jordan, our guide, was able to provide. He knew so much about the local environment, the culture, plants, trees, shrubs and even fungus. He was also able to tell us much of the history of Denali park. We were able to hike from just above the river all the way above the tree line and see great views of the surrounding area. We were also very impressed by the level of education the guides receive in the way of safety and field medicine. You never want to use those skills, but it is invaluable that your guides have them. We would definitely recommend Northern Epic to anyone wanting an “off the beaten path” small group individualized hike.

My husband and I had an absolutely amazing hiking tour in Denali National Park! The day of our tour, it ended up being just the two of us, but the tour wasn't canceled, and we were so grateful for that. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and patient, sharing fascinating details about the park's history, wildlife, and landscape. The fall colors were in full bloom, painting the mountains with vibrant shades of red, orange, and gold – it was breathtaking! It felt like we had the entire park to ourselves, and the beauty of the scenery made the experience unforgettable. Highly recommend this tour!

We truly enjoyed every part of our hike today , Sam was extremely enthusiastic caring , patient and knowledgeable, my son asked so many questions asked for several berry pick ups and Sam was patient throughout the tour , we learnt a lot, chowed on berries & flavorful leaves , I recommend them in a heartbeat

For my 50th we traveled up to the 49th state and fell in love over and over and over again. Our first day in Denali we met up with Jason and knew we were in excellent hands! We were contacted the day before, by Jason, sharing his excitement about our upcoming adventure and confirming our meet up point, which I very much appreciated. The day of our adventure, I had signed us up for the 'Into The Mountains Tour,' there were only four of us hiking, well, five including Jason. When Jason saw the size of our group he asked if we wanted to climb all the way to the top and it was an unanimous 'Heck Yea!', and so we went up and up and up and up some more until we were on top of Sugarloaf Mountain! The views were spectacular! Jason was incredible with us ~ I could tell he assessed all of our enthusiasms and abilities and he continually checked in all while educating us about the mushrooms, the fauna and the flora and the history of Alaska (while sometimes walking backwards which is a whole different talent that deserves it's own Google review!). Thank you, Jason, so very much for kicking off a trip of a lifetime!!! Even though I walked like I was 80 for two days after our adventure it was a remarkable memory maker and you are an integral part of our memories!

We’re from the UK and love the US National Parks. It was our first trip to Denali and we really wanted to experience the wilderness and not be on a busy / paved trail… I’m so glad Google led me to Northern Epics. We did the Into the Mountains 5hr hike with Jordan, and trainee guide for summer 2025 Audrey. It was ace! It was the last day of the season 9/15, and we got really lucky with the weather and the fall colours. The views were incredible. Jordan was great, really knows his stuff and genuinely loves what he does which makes a real difference. And Audrey was lovely, so friendly and personable. Thank you! We also really appreciated the pick up from our cabins and drop off at the bus depot so we could explore more… oh and we got to see a Moose (alive!) Highly recommend! Ps Good luck to Audrey for your half marathon!
