Aquatic Dwellings Waterfall

I can't believe how many people stop at the overlook and don't do the hike. It is a bit hard to find the start of but definitely worth the look. Head up the road about 150 m towards the tunnel and watch for a small red arrow on one of the safety blocks.

DIRECTIONS: The trail begins near the pipe directly across from the lights sign (see photo). Follow the red arrows, and you’ll notice a faint trail starting around the pipe. Continue down this path until you come across a few large rocks in the middle of the trail. Don’t turn around, just walk around them and keep going. As you make your way down the mountain, you’ll eventually reach a small waterfall, this is not the waterfall everyone is talking about. The trail is hidden to the right of it, so follow. Keep walking until you reach a tree that has fallen into the river. Use this as a bridge to cross to the other side. Continue along the trail, and soon, you’ll begin to hear and see the large waterfall. To reach it, step across the stones in the river, then climb up the large rock. The waterfall will be right in front of you. You can go swimming, will feel good on hot days because the water is coldd!! The walk is short, about 15 to 25 minutes, but be cautious while climbing. Some rocks are slippery, you will be scaling down a mountain with nothing to stop you from freefalling. We used walking sticks for extra stability. While it’s possible to go without them, they were a huge help. Be safe, and enjoy:)

Beautiful area and great experience. If it seems steep you may have gone the wrong way. The walk in is very easy but your feet might get wet. Directions: By the parking lot with the look out walk towards “Turn Lights On Sign” and there is a small path to the left. Stay to the right and walk along the ridge that runs parallel to the highway.
