Steel Creek to Kyles Landing This intermediate 8-mile float takes paddlers past the towering Big Bluff, home to the photogenic and thrilling Goat Trail, which skirts the edge of the tallest sheer bluff in Arkansas at 550 feet high. This stretch also includes hikes to Hemmed-In Hollow, an impressive 209-foot waterfall—the tallest between the Appalachian and Rocky Mountains. The route typically takes 4-6 hours depending on river flow.

Kyles Landing to Pruitt A quieter 10-mile stretch, this route is perfect for those seeking solitude. Featuring smaller shoals and rapids, it’s well-suited for families or avid anglers casting for smallmouth bass. Plenty of gravel bars along the way offer picnic spots or pullouts for leisurely breaks. The end point, Pruitt Landing, provides ample parking and restroom facilities.

October and April are the busiest floating months, thanks to optimal water levels and vibrant fall colors or spring blooms.
