Editorial Assessment

Tilicho Lake View Point is a remarkable destination due to its breathtaking altitude, stunning views, and unique ecological significance in the Annapurna region. However, it does not rank among the very top tier because similar high-altitude wonders are scattered across the Himalayas, even though it remains exceptional in its own right.

2014? Trekked with guide Ram from Tilicho Hotel. 2 nights at hotel. Couldn’t sleep so excited about climb the following day. Trek to Lake began at 4am. I was tired already and felt climb to lake was a bit tiring. Hadn’t eaten much for 2 days as no food at TH. Technically a bit of a hike to where view is best. Didn’t pack enough to eat for trip from TH to village above Jomson. Decent from Tilicho saddle to Jomson was cruel and arrived at hotel where there was no food. Sculled a Tuborg and had a plate of rice. Trekked from Jomson along road and trail. Lots of landslides as not long after earthquake. Achieved a personal goal and myself and a Canadian med student, with one guide each, were the only one’s to cross Tilicho pass that day. I didn’t feel too bad as a near 60yo. Would do again at the drop of a hat now nearing 70yo.
