Serene Sands of Ko Mat Sum

Absolute no-go. Overcrowded by mass tourism and unfortunately completely littered - really disappointing. The atmosphere suffers enormously. My tip: It's better to invest the money in a good massage, which will bring you significantly more relaxation.

The island is beautiful and the pigs seem to be doing very well at first glance. (I can't assess the water situation exactly, though. Giving the pigs something to drink didn't seem to do any harm.) Unfortunately, tourists often behave irresponsibly. A lot of rubbish was left on the tables and was spread across the beach by the wind. The operators take care of putting everything away in the evening - but that can't be a long-term solution. If you go there, please put away your trash. And if you see trash that has been left lying around, help out and pick it up too. It can always happen that the animals eat the garbage and thereby endanger their health. I think if we come to this place to enjoy the pigs, dogs and nature, then we also have a responsibility to treat it with respect.

The water is beautiful and the island is full of pigs and dogs but unfortunately they are not being well taken care of. They’re evidently thirsty and hungry and are deprived of this in hopes tourists will buy water/food for them. I also think their should be better instruction/resources for recycling/trash to help keep the island clean.

Great excursion to Pig Island (Koh Mat Sum)! For 2500 baht for 4 adults, we visited 3 islands in total. We went straight to the port and asked a fisherman to take us. Once on Pig Island, entry was 100 baht per person, and we could buy pellets to feed the pigs for 30 baht. It was fun to see them running towards us as soon as we gave them food! The beaches are beautiful, the water crystal clear, and it is a perfect place to relax away from the crowds. An authentic experience not to be missed

Fun and unique experience. Get a drink at the bar/cafe and have some lunch. Was told not to pick up the little ones but you can pet them. The water around the island is awesome - rich blue and clear. Probably too many tourists but hey they have to make money somehow and the pigs don't mind. Oh, there's a short hike to a nice viewpoint too.
