read the (more critical) reviews for the "pig island" pin as well as the reviews here - pigs are not treated well on this island, seemingly no vetinary care or sources of food/water other than begging from tourists

Koh Madsum, the Pig Island – An Attraction That Leaves Me Very Skeptical I specifically wanted to visit Koh Madsum, the infamous "Pig Island" off the coast of Koh Samui, to see the situation for myself rather than relying solely on the images and comments available about this tourist attraction. The pigs I saw seemed generally healthy, and I obviously don't claim to be able to judge their living conditions based on a single visit. Nevertheless, I left feeling genuinely uneasy. I was particularly struck by what appeared to be a lack of food and, above all, easily accessible water for the animals, even though tourists are encouraged to buy food to attract them and take photos with them. It's precisely this aspect that bothers me: the animals become the focus of a tourist attraction where the main objective seems to be interaction and souvenir photos. Personally, I didn't find it the fun or endearing aspect often portrayed in excursions. I wanted to go there myself to form my own opinion. I did, and I remain very skeptical about the concept of this attraction. Koh Madsum has a beautiful natural setting, but as for "Pig Island," I left with more sadness than enthusiasm.

Only for Instagram Zombies. Dirty, bad food, trashy, bad handling of animals and animals pee in eating area.
