Kenyir Lake was a stopover place for us when travelling from Setiu to Kuala Terengganu. Booked ourselves a quick round island boat trip to get a glimpse of the magnificent lake We arrived at around 10.20am, parked the car at the ample parking space and our boatmen is already waiting for us. Surprisingly not many people at that hour considering that it is still during school holidays. So we booked the boat all for the 4 of us and it took like 45 minutes for the ride. You can look for the boat operator numbers and their packages better via Tik Tok. Our boatmen is friendly and is not shy to tell stories about the Kenyir Lake. Kenyir Lake was, in our close to 1 hour boat ride a nice place to be. Calm and peaceful. However, I personally think that Temenggor Lake in Belum has a much better view and atmosphere. Visit both and you may agree with me.

Had such an amazing experience discovering this man made lake (its created by damming the Kenyir river). A touristy delight which offers blue waters, gushing waterfalls, houseboats, a herbal garden, and much more. Though we just explored it using a short boat ride, we’d certainly book an overnight stay on a houseboat to discover more on the next visit. There a few resorts at the banks of the lake if u prefer a more grounded stay. Overall loved the calmness, peace, scenery and greenery of this place. Definitely worth a visit.
