I think the other people's reviews are correct. In particular, the staff is not well-trained, and it is a selfish customer service that is far from hospitality. At the front desk, you can hear the laughter of the staff and the loud voices of customers complaining from the room in the back, just one door away. The fact that no one pays attention to this is probably a sign of the low quality of the staff. There is no need to go out of your way to choose this one, in fact, I do not strongly recommend it.

Wonderful park and hotel

Not on par with other Aman or other nice hotel in Kyoto. While still good, not great service for Japan and not the Aman standard. The real issue is the facility, While I am use to see beautiful landscape in every hotel in Kyoto Aman Kyoto is the only one with bamboo wall really disappointing. The onsen is probably the worst I did in Japan not well maintained with an old feeling and even do it was empty it was not as cleaned as I expected. you hear the noise of the pump or ac so not so relaxing. as of April 2025 there is noisy construction on property while the hotel is still open.
