I left Florida a long time ago but my earliest memories are of the town of Okeechobee, sitting in the crystal clear water of Lake Okeechobee and how the minnows would tickle your legs in the sunlight. I would catch and release minnows with a big conch for hours. People used to go out and spear-fish ten feet down to the bottom because of how lucid the water was! Edit: I'm glad scientists have done such work to restore the lake. In another 10 years its northern edge might be crystal clear *again*, can you imagine!!!! I can't wait!!!!
