We hiked about 3/4 up the Turtlehead trail before we ran out of time and had to return the car. It's a beautiful area, the trail is reasonably marked. The parking and bathroom facilities are well maintained. You have to setup a pass/entry time online before you go.

An Unforgettable Escape – Red Rock Canyon Red Rock Canyon completely blew me away. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but the moment I saw those towering red cliffs against the bright blue sky, I knew I was in for something special. The scenic drive alone is worth the visit. Every turn reveals another breathtaking view, and there are plenty of spots to pull over, take photos, or just sit and take it all in. I hiked the Calico Tanks Trail, and it was incredible—the rock formations felt almost otherworldly, and the views from the top were unreal. What I loved most was the peace and quiet. Even though it’s just a short drive from the craziness of Vegas, it feels like another world. I saw wild burros roaming around and even caught a glimpse of a bighorn sheep. It’s the kind of place that makes you slow down and appreciate nature. If you’re in the area, don’t miss this place. Whether you’re up for an adventurous hike or just want to take a leisurely drive, Red Rock Canyon is pure magic. I’ll definitely be back!
