A great hiking place above the town.

I enjoyed the beautiful autumn trees very much, it was a bit difficult to decipher which was the correct way to go even following all trails. I would say it was moderate to hard. It's nice that it's right in town but there is a lot of uphill so keep that in mind. Saw some cute tiger caterpillars and pretty views of Lava.

So glad we visited at end of Sep when the fall colors are at display. Majority of the elevation gain is at the last of quarter mile where the trail becomes steep up. The view at the top is nice and can see when the train comes around the mountain.

Nice hike. We went at the end of September. Weather was perfect, the trees were colorful. The views were very nice. At first the trail was a bit hard to follow, but overall a very nice, moderate hike. Took us about 1.5 hours total.
