Editorial Assessment

Besseggen is a remarkable hiking destination with unique scenic views and historical relevance. Its natural beauty and the challenge it presents make it an iconic site, though it falls just short of the top tier due to the limited accessibility outside of hiking season.

Very nice, but allow over 4 hours for the ascent and 2 hours for the descent. The second part is difficult. The ferry parking is paid, 290 NOK per hour, after the first two hours are free. Alternatively, there's another paid parking lot 1.5 km away, but much cheaper. You can either walk or take a paid shuttle to the trailhead. In short, everything costs money.
