Big hike down. If your knees are bad it’s a steep descent that’ll make your legs wobbly. You’ve also got to breeze past that recommended GPS turn near the end of the route (once you’re in the camping area) and take the long way on the 133 dirt road (if you don’t want to bottom out). As far as the hike to the falls once you park?The hike up is easier. The hike down is pretty intense. Not great for people who aren’t in shape. The trail is maintained and there aren’t obstacles, but it’s a constant descent with natural packed roots carved into stairs. This water is COLD so be sure that you watch your kids if they try to swim. Don’t plan to swim unless you’re alright w super cold (I’d say 47-50-degree) water. Also there are bears in the area so keep that in mind if it’s getting late and leave your food in the car. A nice place, the falls are cool. Just be prepared and know what you’re going to see. Also lots more tourists here than there used to be.

Wow, wonderfully built, challenging trail. We saw deer, squirrels, a fox and lots of different birds. Dog friendly trail.
