The waterfall itself isn't particularly impressive, so it's best not to come to Semonkong solely for the waterfall. However, if you're interested in seeing an unspoiled, untouched natural environment, it might be interesting. I walked from Semonkong Lodge, leaving at 10:30 AM and arriving at 1:00 PM. Taking photos along the way, the round trip took 2.5 hours. My pedometer showed 14,000 steps. If you're comfortable walking on unpaved mountain trails for about 2.5 hours, walking should be fine. The scenery along the way was beautiful, and there were lots of animals, making the walk enjoyable. If you want to go by horseback from Semonkong Lodge, it costs 500 Marochi. Be careful on the way to the waterfall, as there are paths that cross swamps and rivers. By taking detours, you can avoid having to push through swamps. (This was in August 2014, during the dry season.) Since it's a mountain trail, proper walking shoes are recommended. Following the offline map on Maps.me, I arrived at the waterfall. The ticket, 160 Marochi, can be paid for by credit card at the ticket office. If payment isn't accepted at the office, it's likely a fake ticket. The temperature fluctuates greatly along the way, so I recommend bringing a jacket. Semonkong itself is a beautiful town, but the bus from Maseru to Semonkong, which normally takes 2 hours by car, took 8 hours. I don't recommend taking the bus.
