Beautiful veiws and nice refreshing pools at the top. I would recommend a higher level of fitness if you're going to do this at pace as it is quite a steep track and you can run out of breath quite quickly. I would recommend bringing a jacket as the wind gets very cold at the top. Can't wait untill this track is reopened.

The trek is closed. But you can still see the waterfall from a distance from the parking lot.

Wairere Falls Track is a beautiful and rewarding walk, with lush forest, clear streams and a steady climb that leads to fantastic views over the valley. The track is well‑maintained and the mix of wooden steps, bridges and natural pathways keeps the walk interesting all the way up. The lookout near the top is stunning, and reaching the falls themselves feels like a real payoff after the climb. It’s a great route for walkers who enjoy scenic bush tracks, a bit of elevation and impressive views at the end.
