My girlfriend and I would like to share our amazing experience with Mount Elgon Trekkers and the owner, Ramazan. For us, the journey started with quite a few ups and downs. News about an Ebola outbreak initially made us change our minds and cancel our trip. However, as the situation improved with time, we decided to go ahead after all. Throughout this back-and-forth process, Ramazan was incredibly helpful and informative. Since we had never tried anything like this before, we had a ton of questions and concerns. But Ramazan made us feel safe and quickly gained our trust. Whenever we ran into an issue, he was extremely solution-oriented, flexible, and accommodating to our needs. Finally, the time for the hike arrived, which of course was the absolute best part. We did the trek just the two of us, supported by an amazing team of guides, a chef, and porters. They played a huge role in making our trip unforgettable. They helped us conquer the mountain and taught us so much along the way about Ugandan nature, wildlife, and culture—both on the way to the summit and back down. Mount Elgon itself turned out to be a completely unique experience. We were completely blown away by the scale of the mountain and the surrounding nature; everything was on such a massive scale that we truly felt small in the best way possible. During the hike, we traveled through several distinct vegetation zones, which made the journey endlessly fascinating. We went from massive rainforests covered in evergreen trees and plants, to open dry landscapes, rocky mountain peaks, caves, waterfalls, and volcanic lakes. Describing the surroundings is difficult, and taking pictures simply doesn't do justice to the real thing! Conclusion. I could go on forever, but the main point of this recommendation is simple: We had the best time of our lives. To this day, we are so happy that we decided to go—it was worth every penny and more. Mount Elgon Trekkers is a wonderful company driven by a passionate, down-to-earth, and service-oriented man. Ramazan earned our trust completely, and we guarantee that you can trust him too!

Me and my girlfriend had a three hour hike with Ramadan. Visiting all 3 waterfalls. Which provides many stunning views of the landscape. Besides that we learned a lot of plants, animals, local history and culture. It was a trip we won't forget anytime soon.
