There is no cell service here before you even turn on the gravel road to the trailhead so tell your people you will be MIA, especially if you are bringing other people's children, lest you too cause everyone to panic when you don't respond to messages for 4 hours! We went on a beautiful spring day and it was not crowded at all, although we didn’t start at Kings Creek Falls until close to 12:30. The parking for this trail is very close to the trailhead for Kings Creek Falls, and you can easily do both in the same day. This hike is steep but short (less than 1/2 mile one way). The rocks at the waterfall are more slippery so not as good for playing around as the ones at King Creek Falls. Pictures are from both falls.

Trail Name: Chatooga River Trail to Spoonauger Trail (Falls) Distance (total): 0.8 miles Distance (to falls): 0.4 (approx.) Time: 30 min Trailhead Conditions/Parking: no true parking lot for this trail, just a pull-off on the side of the road, but plenty of space Trail Conditions: well-marked trailhead with multiple signs and maps, and the trail is well-maintained, clear, and easy to follow, but there is still some damage from Helene (April26). First you start on the Chattooga river trail, but then after you cross a stream, you head up to the right, and the trail gets steeper with a few switchbacks but still pretty easy. Difficulty: Easy (3/10) The falls are beautiful and definitely worth a stop for a quick and pretty falls.

They have the trail cleaned up after Helene, still trees down, but the trail is clear. it is a nice fairly easy hike up to the falls and worth the trip.
