Kegon Falls, located in Nikko City, Tochigi Prefecture, is one of Japan's most representative waterfalls, situated within Nikko National Park. It is characterized by the powerful spectacle of water from Lake Chuzenji cascading down a cliff approximately 97 meters high, and is considered one of Japan's three most famous waterfalls. It displays different beauty depending on the season; in spring and summer, visitors can enjoy the fresh greenery, in autumn the vibrant autumn leaves, and in winter the fantastical sight of the waterfall partially frozen. While free viewing is available from the observation deck, a paid elevator allows visitors to descend to an observation deck closer to the base of the falls, providing a more intimate experience of the powerful spray and roar. It is a representative scenic spot in Nikko, attracting many tourists from both Japan and abroad.

Kegon Falls in Nikko, Tochigi Prefecture, is one of Japan's three most famous waterfalls. The other two are Nachi Falls in Wakayama Prefecture and Fukuroda Falls in Ibaraki Prefecture. An entrance fee of 600 yen per person allows access to a high-speed elevator to the bottom of the falls for the best viewing position. Kegon Falls is 97 meters high, with its massive rock walls composed of andesite, agglomerate, and quartz porphyry. Mount Nantai was formed by volcanic eruptions that created mountain springs that converged into Lake Chuzenji, from which the water overflows to create the magnificent Kegon Falls. A visit here allows you to absorb abundant negative ions and cleanse your mind, truly bringing a sense of well-being!
