Compared to Sapa Fansipan and Pai Banjabo, you can climb more freely and see the sea of ​​clouds. You must go up before 8 a.m. to enjoy the wonderful view. Time required: approximately 1 hour. From 10 minutes after starting, it is hard until half way, then medium intensity for the next 200 meters. After that, it was comfortable on the ridge path.

Pretty good hike, not too challenging but requires persistence. About 1 hour up and view is nice, but visibility during summer period is poor so perhaps choose a period with better visibility. Entrance was 50k LAK as the residence maintain the trail. Signs are well marked so no issues hiking by yourself.

Absolutely worth the climb! Phadeng Peak (also called Nong Khiaw Viewpoint) sits at around 465–500 meters above sea level and offers one of the most stunning panoramic views over the Nam Ou River and surrounding limestone mountains. It took me about 90 minutes to hike up and an hour to descend. The trail is well maintained with clear markers and some steep sections, but overall manageable with average effort. The sunset from the summit was unforgettable—especially shared with others who stayed overnight. If you're descending after dark, definitely bring a flashlight or torch. Tickets are 50,000 kip for foreigners and 30,000 kip for locals. All in all, a great experience and highly recommended if you're in Nong Khiaw!
