Exploring Cabrits National Park

Great destination! Enjoyed the open trail and peaceful outdoor atmosphere.

Some great views from the East trail at Cabrits. Takes roughly 30 mins to get to the top and it's mostly flat or slight incline.

Was excellent....

A lovely place for a stroll around the site, however, the museum spaces are rather sparse and outdated... A shame. You can't go inside the restored buildings that serve as a hostel... A pity. But the view over the bay and the trails leading to the remains of the other batteries and dwellings are worthwhile (recommended for experienced hikers, it's quite a climb!).

A very mixed review of this national park, which could be a magnificent place, but is clearly not managed properly. We arrived at the site around 10:30 am. Everything was closed… no one there, no clear map or explanation of what there was to do… well, we'd come, so we started to explore the site on our own. We passed the building that seemed to be the reception area and arrived at a refrigerator graveyard… very chic for a national park. We found another path that led to the fort, with a basic map indicating the trails. Finally! We started with the fort. The renovation is very nice, but the buildings were closed and the information panels were very worn and some were no longer legible. Several trails begin after the fort, but without a map, it was difficult to find our way. We took the one that was most accessible for children, which led us to a military battery in its original state. This gives you an idea of ​​the state of the fort before the renovation. It's already very hot, and we're having trouble finding our way around, so we head back. As we leave, we're hailed by the staff, who are quite numerous and clearly started later this morning, and they ask us to pay for our entrance ticket, which we do, of course, but they don't seem to understand our surprise that they find it satisfactory to visit without a map or explanation. We're not given a map, and we only realize too late that we missed the interpretation center, which looked fantastic. In short, a lovely site, best visited in the morning because it's too hot otherwise, but you might not get a guided tour.
