Wilderness campsite. Coffee, tea, and snacks for sale. Indoor sleeping places are also available in case of bad weather, though you will be sharing a room with 12 people.

Wonderful campsite right on the lake. Sanitary facilities, basic food and drink supplies are also available, as well as a tent for cooking.

A magnificent place. It's possible to start from the west and head east via the F210... unless access to Maelifell is impossible, which has been the case in 2026 and remains so to this day. In that case, return west via the F261, which I find less interesting. There are two river crossings on the F210. These fords can be difficult and require a proper 4x4, not a city SUV!

We camped so didn't stay in the hut. Stunningly beautiful location overlooking a lake. Campsite has a cooking shelter, toilets and showers plus a very small shop. Warden makes great cakes!
