Very cool petroglyphs in the middle of Wyoming. 11 miles of dirt/ gravel road in, another 25 miles dirt gravel road out (we were headed south on the way out) No cell service and saw no one for hours. We had no trouble with a 4 door Nissan Altima, very mild very occasional ruts in the road. Otherwise the road was easily drivable. The gps had us arriving before we got there, we kept straight and finally saw the sign (the road dead ends to the glyphs) No bathroom, people, ir cell service around for at least 90 miles. So prepare!! BUT the Petroglyphs were worth it. Very cool circular glyphs with some distinct carvings, others had strange irregular shapes. One with a wing attached, another with a “bird” figure attached. We found one glyph by itself very high up with purple and green coloring. Very difficult to photograph with a cell phone, I saw an all seeing eye glyph but it did not photograph. We spent about an hour and a half exploring.Very cool!!!

I would grade this as an easy walk, maybe a mile round trip. The path and the kiosk are in good shape and appear to be maintained

A sacred place, a magical place. The wind and birds are the only sounds... The spirit of the ancestors is very much present. It was a great joy and an honor to have been able to visit it. I hope to return... someday. September 2025 💖
