Sun, Sand, and Serenity at Playa Buritaca

Great destination! Enjoyed the open trail and peaceful outdoor atmosphere.

The ocean side of the beach has very strong and aggressive waves, while the river side has calmer, cooler water, which is where swimming is more enjoyable. Although it boasts two very special natural environments, the community that manages it needs to invest more to make it attractive to tourists. I feel like it's been left behind.

You can swim from the river to the sea; the beach is beautiful.

Buritaca is, honestly, an incredible place. 🌊🌴 The day we went it had rained in the morning, so the water was a little silty, but the experience was still beautiful. The most special thing is seeing the point where the river meets the sea. Feeling the two bodies of water merge is an incredible sensation and a landscape that's hard to forget. The river water is cold, as is the sea, and the contrast between the trees, palm trees, the river, and the ocean gives the place a very unique beauty. 🌴🏞️🌊 The sea often has strong waves, with large and quite rough surf, so I recommend being careful, especially if you don't have much swimming experience. It's worth enjoying, but always respecting the power of the sea. There are also a variety of options for spending the day: food, tent rentals, kayaking, and boat trips. And if you want a more adventurous experience, you can also swim to the point where the river meets the sea. 🚣‍♀️ I found the prices reasonable for a tourist destination. There are different food options, many quite substantial and served with broth. You'll also find coconut water, lemonade, coco loco (a coconut drink), alcoholic beverages, and other options to enjoy throughout the day. 🥥🍋 Buritaca was a wonderful experience. Nature, the river, the sea, and the tropical landscape combine in a spectacular way. Without a doubt, a place worth visiting and enjoying. 💚🇨🇴
