Mächtige Attraktion. 60 Meter Fallhöhe, ziemlich breit. Ich war extra früh hier, es waren noch keine Reisebusse da und der Fall befand sich noch im Schatten. Offenbar nicht früh genug, denn der Bereich direkt vor dem Fall war schon ganz gut besucht. Für ein Foto ohne Leute hat es aber gereicht, näher heran zu gehen. Kräftige Gischt. Durch die winzig wirkenden Menschen im Bild werden die Dimensionen des Falls gut sichtbar. Ich habe auch die Treppe hinauf zur Aussichtsplattform genommen. Ziemlich anstrengend das Ganze. Von dort wirkt der Fall (für isländische Verhältnisse) eher gewöhnlich. Man sieht ihn nur seitlich und nicht in seinem gesamten Ausmaß. Der untere Teil bleibt hinter einem Felsvorsprung verborgen. Während des Aufstiegs sieht man vom Fall gar nichts. Frontalansicht von unten ist deutlich beeindruckender. Parkplatz kostenpflichtig (Automat vor Ort und Parka App). Infrastruktur vorhanden. Ich war bei einer früheren Reise schon einmal später am Abend hier und damals fast der einzige Besucher. Besuch an den Tagesrandzeiten ist definitiv eine Empfehlung.
