Good grief, what a gorgeous hike. A wonderland of micro habitats and more absurdly beautiful vistas than one could reasonably expect. Wa-wa-we-wow!! Go close to low tide for amazing tide pools.

Ship Harbor Trail was our second favorite trail in Acadia National Park, with Jordan Pond still taking the top spot. This trail has an amazing variety of terrain, including wooden boardwalks, gravel paths, natural rock steps, and spectacular coastal viewpoints overlooking the ocean and surrounding islands. The trail follows a large figure eight loop, making the walk interesting from start to finish. It’s an easy hike overall and suitable for families and children. There is one short section along the shoreline where parents should keep a close eye on younger kids because of the drop off, but the rest of the trail is very family friendly. The only downside is the lack of amenities. There are restrooms at the trailhead, but don’t expect anything else. Even so, the incredible scenery and variety of the trail make this one of the best hikes in Acadia and one I would highly recommend.

This is extremely beautiful. I would put it on par with the ocean path. It's too bad more people don't know about it
