Gorgeous, secluded area, even height of travel season. We have never had a problem getting a campsite in the vicinity and it is a hop, skip, and jump away from Telluride without the Hustle, bustle, and cost of town. Views are stunning and trails are plentiful and easy for flat landers such as myself.

Great destination! Enjoyed the open trail and peaceful outdoor atmosphere.

We took the four wheelers to this lake and then up 4-wheel roads to a small creek and pond with clear water, lots of trout, a beaver dam, and a valley surrounded by firs. The roads were rough, but the views were worth the trip. This was my first time in Colorado, and I was well rewarded by the beautiful nature the state works hard to conserve!

Nature at it's best! Beautiful, scenic, clean, with camping, fishing, hiking, and horse trails. Went on a Tuesday and it was mostly empty. Several paddle boarders and a single kayak. We found a shady spot and set up our chairs, ice chest, and picnic stuff. The wind was blowing so the water was a little rippley. Big billowing clouds, it was a perfect day It's a med size lake with a foot trail all the way around the perimeter. Pretty easy hike but you can and will encounter wildlife (deer, moose, elk, bears). Be aware of your surroundings! 🐻🫎🦌🐺 Limited parking for about 10-15 SUVs and a drop off /pick up loading zone. A single pit toilet wrapped in cinder block, that's handicap accessible. Gravel road with some washboard surfaces. Stayed a few hours and packed it up. You can camp here, Camping is just down the road a short way. I recommend water shoes if you plan to jump on the water, lots of jagged little rocks so barefoot only if you are a badass. Lifejackets are mandatory if you go out. Leash your dog to keep them from running after wildlife. Also sun screen and bug repellant are strongly recommended.
