Continue down the path above Douglas Falls until you reach a poorly marked trail into the gorge. Look for the logs and old railroad ties marking the start of the path. The trail descends steeply, and the emerges at the top of the falls, with a second trail skirting to the right, to the base of the falls. There is a rope to assist you along a steep and slippery rock face on this lower portion of the trail.
