Mt. Fuji: The Timeless Icon of Japan

I climbed Mt. Takagi from the Minokamo Health Forest in the heat via 777 steps. Next, I planned to climb Mt. Fuji, but I had to retreat halfway through. I was attacked by the heat, a feeling of heatstroke, and a chill, so I retreated. Next time, I will only climb Mt. Fuji.

The mountain name board says "Yamanokami Mt. Fuji," but the Geospatial Information Authority of Japan map shows it as "Mt. Fuji." The altitude is 357m, which is less than one-tenth the height of the main house, so it is easy to climb. There are many tall trees at the top of the mountain, so the view is not very good (lol)

It is a 357m mountain that rises on the east side of Minokamo Health Forest. The map says "Mt. Fuji," but it seems that it is also called "Mountain Noue Mt. Fuji." At the entrance from the prefectural road, there is a sign that says ``1600m to Mt. Fuji'', and you can drive up to the parking lot along the way, although it is a narrow road. The mountain trail from here is relatively easy, but the route up from Minokamo Healthy Forest, across Fujimi Bridge, is a steep rocky area. There are signs along the road that tell the origin of the mountain's name. The contents are as follows. About 300 years ago, Zenbei Kano, a wealthy merchant from Minokamo, loved Mt. Fuji so much that he climbed Mt. Fuji in Shizuoka every year. During his final climb of Mt. Fuji in his later years, he received a sacred object from Mt. Fuji. The deity was enshrined in the mountains of Minokamo, his hometown, and he worshiped it day and night. Zen Master Hakuin, who was visiting Minokamo during his training, was impressed by Zenbei's love for Mt. Fuji, and suggested that the mountain in Minokamo should also be named Mt. Fuji, in order to convey Zenbei's feelings to future generations.
