In clear weather, treat yourself to a visit to the heights.

It's the highest point on the island of Streymoy, about a 20-minute drive from the capital, Tórshavn. The last stretch of road (about 1 km) is narrow and not serviced by snow plows or ice-clearing equipment, making it very dangerous to drive in winter. There's a large parking lot 200 meters before the weather station. From the parking lot, an unofficial circular trail begins for about 5 km. The first section is well-marked, then there are only a few cobblestone men, and then there are virtually no markers, so you'll have to rely on dedicated GPS apps. The trail is challenging, especially in winter, and only for experienced hikers. If you get lost, we'll all find ourselves in the infinite blackness we call the cosmos.
