✨ Nature's Cascade: Pearson's Falls in North Carolina

Amazing restoration post-Helene. So much love has been put into it. If you visited Pearson's Falls before you won't be able to believe how the creek was rerouted by the storm. We really like the new reservation system - it keeps the property from being crowded at certain times, and because the trail is open only three days a week there is not too much wear and tear on it. $10/person is very reasonable considering it is a private property and thousands of volunteer hours have gone into it. Although we arrived before the official 10-minute window before our reservation slot, the gate attendant saw us and ran to let us in. Parking is just to the left of the gates, and is free. The fee was well worth it. The falls are still spectacular. The wood chip path is comfortable on the feet, and everything is well-marked. The nice gate attendant told us exactly where to go. They've done such a beautiful job that even though we were sad to see the extent of the damage we really enjoyed our afternoon. There are nice picnic tables there, should you want to bring a snack, and some nice benches. There are some hilly sections of trail, so although I would in general rate it as "easy" those with limited mobility may find it harder. As senior citizens we each brought one hiking pole, and that worked out well, although we could have done without. The only danger - the floors of the bathrooms were slick! It had rained a lot the previous day, and there was condensation. Our reservation was for the 3:00 PM slot, and we were given until 5:00 to explore. That was plenty of time to do the trail twice, which we did, while taking many photos and stopping to look at plants. It's going to be fabulous when the spring flowers bloom. Please make your reservation and give Pearson's Falls some love!

Going up on the left trail, was harder than I thought. Not only the steepness, but the trail was covered by exposed roots. 🥵 Best to go up the right trail and down the left trail. Trail by the waterfall, was hard to find, it needs an arrow or some type of marking. 👉 Waterfall was beautiful.🩵 Only 3 parking spots, so glad we went on a weekday.

7/24/26 - The falls have reopened after Helene, but reservations are now required (available Thursday thru Saturday). Love these falls! It's so peaceful here walking along the river and the falls are beautiful. Its very well maintained.
