It's definitely worth the trip! The views from the top, towards the lake and the volcano crater, are truly impressive! I was lucky and the morning was clear, with no fog or clouds to obstruct the sunrise, and this will remain a wonderful memory for me. My trip from Ubud to the starting point of the trek was very well organized, and our guide for the trek was very helpful and entertaining. I recommend Mount Batur Sunrise Trekking if you decide to take this trip!

Great tour! We did the Sunrise tour + Natural hot springs ( 750k per person). Knowledgeable driver : Kadek Arcana picked us up at 2:30am from Ubud and our guide Mangku Gung took us up the mountain via quiet paths (that avoided other tourists) in plenty of time to catch the sunrise at a beautiful (and not too windy) spot. Both guides had good English and were patient and eager to chat with us. The weather was cloudy when we started but cleared in time for sunrise. After the hike we spent as long as we liked at a natural volcanic hot spring and then toured an amazing coffee plantation the guide there showed us their food forest (they grow way more than just coffee). We tried ethical luwak coffee and local chocolate! Be curious and your guides will show you more than you could imagine! Matur Susksma! Recommend bringing extra water and enough layers to keep warm.
