Sunrise Wonders at Mount Batur

We booked sunrise hike to the mount Batur followed by visit to hot springs. Overall it was amazing experience.

Whilst some views at the top can be beautiful, it generally left me with a bittersweet feeling because much of the magic of nature was destroyed. The path to the top was full of litter, there will be plenty of crowds in the morning, and the view at the top is dominated by shabby shelters all along the ridge. Yes, you can have that Instagram picture if you frame it well, but you won't be able to ignore that there is a big gap between that picture and the reality.

Great destination! Enjoyed the open trail and peaceful outdoor atmosphere.

I don’t know what the local people are thinking by scamming tourists talking nonsense about an entrance fee of 300k per person? They claim it’s for safety, but they only care about your money. They don’t even ask your name. they just want your cash. Good luck with that. The government should take action against this group of scammers who harass people.
