The boardwalk actually made the hike more difficult due to the unevenness of the stairs. The Hidden Lake was beautiful!

Parking is just ridiculous in August. Plan on not having a spot at the visitor center. We arrived at 7:30 am and it had been full for a while. But- this is one of our 2 favorite hikes in the park. The other is Grinnell Glacier. This trail wasn’t easy for me but it was worth the views, the destination, and the animals. The farther we got from the trailhead the more animals we saw. One goat was using the trail and following us back up the mountain.

One of the "must see" spots at Glacier NP. Even in the middle of summer there can be snow/ice that will make the hike a little challenging. Also, bears can often be seen at Hidden Lake that will affect access to the Lake itself -- as it was on our trip (mid-July 2024) - so be aware!
