Around 2 mile one way hike. Moderate level with rugged path because of recent rains. You get panaromic view of the surroundings mountains.

I made the hike to Stonewall Peak multiple times from the now-defunct Camp Haul-Cu-Cuish Scout Camp and from Camp Cuyamaca in Cuyamaca Rancho State Park. The trail is easily accessed from the Paso Picacho campground. It is about four miles to the peak and back. Although there is a 900-foot altitude gain, the trail is heavily switchbacked and meticulously maintained so it is not at all a difficult hike. The view from the granite summit is magnificent and on a clear day you can see half of San Diego County. It is well worth the walk to the top. It is literally one of my favorite spots in the world, and I've seen a lot of the world.

Truly I recommend going here for the AM sunrise hike 🌄✨ I know it’s early to do it but really cool views and the fresh air makes it all so worth it . Nothing is compared to the morning mist air breathing in while hiking up to the peak . It was my birthday turned 34 on August 15 and this is how I started the day of celebration 🙏🏽 looove this memory for pushing myself to say yes to what I know many years to come in future self will be stoked i woke up early to celebrate my birthday like this 🎉 woke up in a retreat super close 5-8 minutes drive to this hike called quite mind retreat . Adam at the retreat was very helpful kind person . I say there is a special true selfcare feeling waking up to that retreat having our birthday breakfast waiting for us after our early sunrise hike . Jacuzzi mid day so good !

Easy trail, with gentle switchbacks and granite stairs to the summit. Amazing views in all directions. A fantastic choice for hiking with families and children. Parking and restrooms nearby at Paso Picacho State Park. Depending on the time of year, start early - much of the trail is exposed and crowds may be large (but hikers courteous)
