Highlights

Outing Highlights

THE COURSE

Compact, obstacle-rich route

From the 3 m Laird's Lair you progress across plank and net bridges, a climbing wall and postman's walk before several zips and the tyre bridge — a tightly sequenced loop that finishes with a long zipline.

THE SAFETY SETUP

Continuous roller safety and instructor oversight

All explorers use a safe roller system that incorporates a zip trolley and safety line, and sessions include a dedicated instructor to manage groups and ensure safety on the course.

THE FAMILY FIT

Designed for young explorers and family groups

Suitable for ages 5 and up, the Explorer Adventure allows children aged 8–10 to use the Wildcats Zone unaccompanied (with an adult supervising on the ground), while younger children attend with required adult participation or under a dedicated-instructor party.

What the day feels like

What the hour feels like

The session begins at the Laird's Lair, 3 m above ground; after harnessing you move steadily from one short technical challenge to the next — plank to net bridge, up a climbing wall to the postman's walk, into a mini-zip and a series of balancing and zip elements — all run under a continuous roller safety system and the direction of an instructor.

Suitability

Who it's for

Who this adventure suits — and who should consider alternatives.

1
Active families with young childrenIdeal: the course is designed for ages 5+, with explicit supervision rules (children 5–7 require an adult on the course at a ratio of 1 adult per 2 children) and options for a dedicated instructor party for small groups of younger children.
2
Independent 8–10-year-oldsAppropriate: children aged 8–10 may use the Wildcats Zone unaccompanied on the course but require an accompanying adult to be present on the ground for supervision.
3
Accompanying adultsSuitable as participants or supervisors: adults (18+) can accompany children on the course, or remain on the ground to supervise younger groups; adults also help with harnessing where required.
4
People with limited mobilityNot an ideal fit: the course requires a reasonable level of mobility and fitness to navigate climbing and balancing obstacles safely.

Planning Your Outing

How long does the Explorer Adventure last?

Approximately 45 minutes from kitting up to finish.

What are the age and height requirements?

Can an 8–10-year-old do the course alone?

Children aged 8–10 may use the Wildcats Zone unaccompanied on the course, but an accompanying adult must be present on the ground to supervise.

Is there an option for a dedicated instructor?

Yes — you can book a dedicated instructor party for groups of 4–8 children aged 5–7; an instructor stays exclusively with your group, though adults must still be present to help harness and supervise from the ground.

What should participants wear?

Participants must wear trainers or similarly sturdy closed-toe shoes, long-sleeved tops and full-length trousers; all jewellery and watches must be removed and long hair tied back.
