THE PLAYGROUND

Walker Valley: miles to burn

The operator recommends Walker Valley ORV Park (Mount Vernon), an expansive 3,600-acre facility featuring roughly 36 miles of ORV trails well suited to a multi-day rental.

THE WINDOW

A compact, freedom-filled rental period

The five-day delivery model gives riders time to reach and explore nearby ORV areas without repeated pick-ups—an option that emphasizes sustained trail time over single-day turnover.

What the day feels like

What the five-day delivery feels like

You pick a delivery spot within 50 miles of Snohomish, the vehicle is dropped off, and a five-day rental clock starts; from there you have scoped access to nearby ORV destinations such as Walker Valley and other sanctioned riding areas. The format favors self-directed exploration—map use, daily weather checks, and proper safety gear are part of the rhythm.

Frequently asked questions

Planning Your Outing

What's the difference between an ATV and a UTV?

Terminology varies—UTV (Utility Task Vehicle), Side-by-Side, ORV, OHV and ATV are often used interchangeably. Generally, an ATV refers to a four-wheeler with handlebars and a thumb throttle, while a UTV or side-by-side has a steering wheel and foot pedals, though search engines and references sometimes lump them together.

Is there an age requirement to rent or drive?

Renters and drivers must be 18 years or older and possess a valid driver's license. Passengers must be at least 2 years old and may require booster seats as mandated for road vehicles.

Do I need a helmet?

Yes. Helmets are required for all machines; DOT-approved helmets are available for a fee or you may bring your own DOT or SNELL approved helmet. If you refuse to rent a helmet and do not bring one, you will not be permitted to rent the UTV.

What insurance comes with the rental?

Rentals include a premium liability insurance policy at no additional charge (a stated $50/day value) and optional medical insurance is available for an additional fee per person. You cannot decline these coverages.

Is there a damage deposit?

No separate damage deposit is required; the provided insurance automatically covers the first $5,000 in damage. The renter is responsible for damage or lost rental costs exceeding $5,000.

Where can I legally take the rental?

You can take rentals to many ORV areas in Washington; the operator lists Walker Valley ORV Park and Reiter Foothills ORV Park as nearby options. It is the renter’s responsibility to check local and state laws—UTVs are considered Off-Highway Vehicles and may be illegal on Forest Service roads designated Highway Vehicle Use Only.

Do you provide maps for riding areas?

The operator does not carry maps, but you can download OHV area maps from the National Forest Service and use them in the free Avenza Maps app for navigation, provided you have a GPS signal.
