The guided shuttle-and-ride is a 4‑hour experience; most guests complete the route in about 3.5–4 hours depending on stops.
Meet at 33 Sunderland Street, Clyde 9330. Shuttle departures from CCT Middlemarch to Daisybank are scheduled at 9:30am or 12:00pm.
Comfortable activewear, sunscreen, water bottle and a windbreaker. Helmets and panniers are provided; padded shorts and gloves are recommended. Bring togs if you plan to use Middlemarch’s pool.
The ride finishes in Middlemarch. The train does not have a second afternoon run—returning to Dunedin by train requires an overnight in Middlemarch if you intend to use that option.

Can I ride the train back to Dunedin after my ride?
No. The train does not currently have a second run in the afternoon; if you want to take the train back to Dunedin you will need to overnight in Middlemarch.
Are there any food stops from Daisybank to Middlemarch?
No; there are not yet food stops on that portion of the Rail Trail, so you should bring your own food and water for the Daisybank–Middlemarch section.
What if it rains?
Rides run in most conditions, but safety comes first—if the weather is unsafe for riding the operator will work with you to reschedule or provide alternatives.
What should I bring?
Bring comfortable activewear, sunscreen, a water bottle and a windbreaker. Helmets, panniers and a full trail briefing are provided; padded shorts and gloves are recommended. If you want to use the pool in Middlemarch, bring togs.
