What the ride feels like
The program begins at the Saint Elmo entrance with a guided ride up the Incline Railway to the mountain top, followed by a fitting and a skills session to practice braking, shifting, turning and body position. After drills you descend roughly 7 miles back down the mountain—on wide open double‑track and flowy trail sections that often require little pedaling—and return to the Incline Railway for a complementary ice cream.

The program includes a skills session at the top of the mountain intended for riders to practice braking, shifting, turning and body positioning, but participants must be able to balance a bike and independently use handbrakes.
What should I bring on the ride?
Bring a water bottle.
Are there health or physical restrictions?
This trip is not recommended for those who are pregnant, are under 4'11" tall, have uncontrolled exercise‑induced asthma, have known heart conditions aggravated by exercise, cannot balance a bike independently, or cannot independently use handbrakes to stop a bike.
Will we get fitted with equipment and instruction?
Yes — participants exit the station at the top, get fitted for the historic bike adventure and begin with a skills session to practice required handling skills before the descent.
