Haines unfurls as a compact network of ocean-side roads, river valleys and forested spits—terrain that suits the hulking confidence of a fat-tire e-bike. Cyclops Cycles’ fleet of Rad Rover Plus machines puts pedal-assist and throttle power beneath you, with rugged 4" tires and an expected battery range of over 45 miles, so you can choose short town loops or longer runs toward Chilkoot River and Chilkat State Park at your own pace.

Outing Highlights

THE WILDLIFE

Chilkoot River: Salmon, Eagles, and Bears

Follow Lutak Road east to the Chilkoot River valley for reliable wildlife encounters: salmon runs in season, bald eagles overhead and the occasional bear along the riverbanks. It’s a slow-rolling photography and observation zone—plan to linger.

THE ROUTE

Haines Highway Scenic Byway

Ride north along the Haines Highway where the Chilkat River corridor opens to glacier views and alpine tributaries; the drive is punctuated by cultural landmarks and frequent moose and eagle sightings as you move from sea level toward the mountains.

THE WILDERNESS

Chilkat State Park: Beaches, Glaciers, Quiet Trails

Head south onto Mud Bay Road to reach Chilkat State Park, a secluded pocket of beaches, forest trails and distant views of Rainbow and Davidson Glaciers—ideal for a quieter stretch of riding and short hikes off the bike.

What the day feels like

What the Ride Feels Like

The Rad Rover Plus experience blends stable, low-pressure fat tires with electric assist so you cover ground that would otherwise be hard work on loose gravel or headwind along the inlet. With throttle and pedal-assist available and a battery range rated at more than 45 miles, rides scale from easy town cruises to full-day explorations of riverside valleys and state-park gravel roads—your pace, your route.
