Outing Highlights

THE WILDLIFE

Close encounters with South Shore reef life

Koloa Landing’s reefs host concentrated marine life within a moderate depth range, and Fathom Five’s instructors provide biology briefings that highlight animal habits, habitats and breeding locations—bringing encounters to life for divers.

THE DIVES

Two accessible shore dives, 15–45 feet

The experience is built around two shore dives in an easy entry area with minimal swell break, offering stable conditions across shallow to mid depths that suit both returning and newer certified divers.

THE SERVICE

Small groups, thorough briefings and quality gear

Trips run in small groups (no more than four divers unless requested), include snacks and juices, and feature clean, well-maintained rental equipment and an orientation covering safety procedures and dive signals.

What the day feels like

What the day feels like

You check in for a half-day session, meet your small group and instructor for an ecology and safety briefing, don rental gear if needed, then enter the sea via an easy shore entry for the first of two guided dives. Between dives there’s a surface interval with provided snacks and juices, followed by the second dive and a final debrief—an efficient, supportive rhythm that focuses on marine life and skills refreshment.

Suitability

Who it's for

Who this trip suits — and who should consider alternatives.

1
Returning certified diversWell suited — the two-tank format and optional 30-minute refresher make it easy to shake off time away from the water and regain comfort before diving.
2
Newer certified diversA good match — shallow to mid-depth dives with small groups and guided briefings provide a supportive environment to expand reef experience.
3
Families with older childrenAppropriate for families with children aged 10 and up; the small-group format helps instructors give close attention to younger certified divers.
4
Non-certified snorkelers or first-time diversNot ideal unless you arrange a specific beginner or certification program; the operator tries not to mix certified and non-certified divers unless explicitly requested.
