Off Santa Rosa Beach, the Choctawhatchee Bay opens into shallow, glassy waters threaded with sandbars, snorkeling pockets and dolphin pods. The AVALON, a new-for-2020 12-passenger, 150HP double-decker tritoon with mood lighting, Bluetooth radio and a water slide, is built to spend hours anchored in those shallows — whether you’re drifting in the bay, paddleboarding off the deck, or running out to Crab Island for shallow‑water play and waterfront food.

Outing Highlights

THE VESSEL

Luxury and power on a double‑decker tritoon

The AVALON is a true luxury double‑decker tritoon: rated for up to 12 passengers, equipped with a 150HP motor, Bluetooth radio, mood lighting and a waterslide — an engineered dayboat built to host both relaxed anchoring and quick runs across the bay.

THE PLAYGROUND

Crab Island and Baytowne Wharf — shallow‑water fun

Use the boat to reach Crab Island — roughly a 40‑minute run west — where shallow shoals let you snorkel, play volleyball and sample food right from the water, or tie up at Baytowne Wharf for dining, zip line and summer entertainment.

THE ACTIVE OPTION

Paddleboards and dolphin spotting

Add YOLO paddle boards for anchored paddling and dolphin‑watching in the bay; the vessel also supports fishing and other water play when you drop anchor in the shallows.

What the day feels like

What the six‑hour outing feels like

Expect a balanced day of movement and pause: a short run out of Cessna Landing into Choctawhatchee Bay, time cruising the shoreline to spot dolphins and local homes, then extended anchoring for sliding, paddleboarding or walking the shallow flats at Crab Island or visiting Baytowne Wharf. The boat’s double‑deck layout and slide make it as much a floating playground as a passenger cruiser.

Suitability

Who it's for

Who this trip suits — and who should plan differently.

1
Active FamiliesFamilies benefit from the slide, shallow‑water anchor spots and the ability to walk to nearby restaurants; note that the Coast Guard counts every person aboard — infants included — toward the 12‑passenger limit.
2
Groups & CelebrationsGroups up to 12 find space and onboard amenities for a party atmosphere; alcohol is allowed but the designated driver must remain sober and you may hire a professional driver if preferred.
3
First‑time BoatersIf you’ve never piloted a pontoon, proceed with caution: the operator provides safety guidance and can supply a driver for an additional fee if you’re uncomfortable at the helm.
4
Paddleboarders & AnglersAdd YOLO paddle boards for anchored paddling and bring the fishing pole package if you plan to fish — a Florida fishing license is required to fish from the boat.

Frequently asked questions

Planning Your Outing

How long is the trip?

This listing is for a six‑hour rental.

Where do we pick up the boat?

The operator meets you at the Cessna Landing dock on CR 393 in Santa Rosa Beach and will be there about 15 minutes before your scheduled time.

How old do I have to be to rent a pontoon boat?

Renters must be 30 years of age or older and hold a valid United States driver’s license.

Are infants or babies allowed on the boat?

Yes; the U.S. Coast Guard considers everyone aboard a passenger, so infants count toward the 12‑passenger limit.

Can the operator provide a captain?

The operator cannot assign a driver; when you request a driver you receive a list of available drivers and must contact them yourself. A reservation fee is collected at booking and the driver is paid an hourly rate on the day of the trip.

Can we go to Crab Island?

Yes — Crab Island is an option and is about a 40‑minute run west; it offers shallow water for snorkeling, volleyball and food accessed from the water.

Is alcohol allowed?

Alcohol is allowed on the boat, but the driver must not consume alcohol; it is illegal to operate a vessel under the influence.

Are pets allowed?

Pets are allowed but an additional fee and cleaning fee may apply if extra cleaning is required.

Can I fish from the boat?

Yes; fishing is permitted but requires a Florida fishing license. The operator offers a fishing pole package as an add‑on.

What happens if we return the boat late?

If you expect to be late, keep in contact with the crew; returning the vessel late will incur additional charges — $50 for each 15 minutes late.
