The Kanutour im Oberen Donautal launches from the kiosk at Beuron’s minigolf area into one of Germany’s most dramatic river landscapes — the so-called Schwäbische Grand Canyon — where paddlers float between steep limestone cliffs and clear river bends while deciding how far to push downriver.

Outing Highlights

THE LANDSCAPE

Dramatic rock walls and quiet river scenery

The route threads the Upper Danube’s striking Felskulisse — a sequence of steep, rocky cliffs that frame long stretches of calm, paddlable water.

THE ROUTE

Flexible distances from a single launch

You get a canoe for the whole day and can choose between short (7 km), medium (11–15 km) and long (21 km) distances, deciding your endpoint while on the water.

THE EXPERIENCE

A first-entry launch into the Upper Danube

This offering includes an exclusive first-entry point in the Oberen Donautal and the option to paddle the longest continuous stretch in the valley down to Sigmaringen.

What the day feels like

What the day feels like

Settle into a rented canoe at the Beuron kiosk, strap on a provided life jacket and push off into slow, contemplative water. Because rental is for the day you can paddle at your own pace and elect midstream whether to stop after a short run or continue through increasingly sculpted rock scenery toward Sigmaringen.
